For example, in Rwanda, 9.5 million people or 81% of the population cannot access mains electricity, which has a negative impact on quality of life and limits people’s chances of achieving economic prosperity.

ROLE PROFILE
Title: Head of Marketing and Sales
Reports to: Group Director of Commercial and Innovation
Direct Reports: Branding & Marcoms, Market Research and Sales Channels (Business Process) Managers

Location: Kigali, Rwanda (with some travel to the UK and our East & West African markets)
Role Purpose: The Head of Marketing & Sales will lead BBOXX’ efforts in these two key commercial areas. You will be responsible for creating innovative strategies and the associated project roadmaps for improving relevant business processes and developing effective tools which will help DESCOs (= Distributed Energy Service Companies) achieve their marketing goals and sales targets.

Your role

Define and deliver on the long-term marketing and sales strategy for the company (in consultation with the Commercial & Innovation Director)

Identify a set of key projects that will enable MDs at DESCOs to meet their objectives

Collaborate with the Branding & Marcoms Manager on building and improving relevant processes (and align initiatives with the Marketing & Communications Manager B2B)

Collaborate with the Market Research Manager on building and improving relevant processes

Collaborate with the Sales Channels Manager on building and improving relevant processes


Requirements

About you

3-5 years’ experience in a senior marketing/sales role leading and coaching a team

Proven success stories of performing above expectations on developing new sales channels, strengthening a company’s brand presence or conducting market research

Experience with implimenting operational improvements which rely on softwar changes impacting a large installed customer base

Team player capable of effectively communicating with a large variety of external and internal stakeholders (at Group and DESCO level)

Excellent written and oral communication skills, fluency in English

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience in the off-grid solar energy sector

Fluency in French or other relevant languages

Familiarity with Agile Project Management frameworks

Experience with the Human

Centred Design approach
